What does your name mean and why did your parents choose it for you?
Submitted by mommy2two.
The name Piers is like Peter so it means 'rock' (as in granite rather than the Mick Jagger). My Dad is a big motor racing fan and I was named after a British racing driver called Piers Courage. I don't think he was ever that famous a driver so I guess my mum and dad just liked the name. Apparently it was either that or Nelson (Piquet).

What time is your alarm clock set for? Do you use the snooze button?
We've had our alarm clock for about 18 months now.
There are no clock setting or snooze features included, but he's a lot of fun.
What modern book do you think will be read in high school by the next generation of kids?
Submitted by Tom.
If it isn't studied already and 1981 counts and modern then I'd think something like 'Midnight's children' by Salman Rushdie. It's a beautifully written book that also taught me a lot about the history of India and Pakistan.
Which band or artist which is no longer performing or alive would you have loved to have seen?
Submitted by Rev Stan.
My biggest regret is not seeing the Stone Roses live when they were on
top of their game, especially the now legendary spike island gig.
PS: Many thanks to Rev Stan for two reasons, firstly for proposing such a fine question and secondly for pointing out that you can see previous QOTD's from the homepage which I hadn't spotted.
What do you always forget to pack?

Toothbrush, always the toothbrush but at least it's easy to buy one when you get there.
What's your favorite blend or brand of coffee or tea?
Given a choice it would be tea. I love Green tea and could drink that all day but sometimes you can't beat a good cup of builders tea, strong with just a bit of milk and probably something like PG Tips.
Would you rather go back in time or visit the future?
Submitted by Auds.
Um, that's a really hard one. I think on balance I'd rather go back to some really interesting place and time in the past to see what it was like. Seeing into the future would spoil the surprise.
